Matías Mier Codina (born 2 August 1990 in Montevideo) is an Uruguayan football midfielder. He currently plays for Universidad Católica.

On 3 June 2011 he scored a crucial away goal in a Copa Libertadores semi final clash against Vélez Sársfield of Argentina, although Peñarol were defeated on the night 2-1 they progressed to the final on the away goals rule as the game was tied 2-2 on aggregate over the two legs after they had won the 1st leg 1-0 in Uruguay a week prior. He also helped his club Peñarol reach the final of the Copa Libertadores 2011 in where they lost 2-1 in a match between Santos F.C. from Brazil.
On the day of July 20, 2011 on 1:44 P.M. he was presented to Universidad Católica as their new surprise reinforcement, mainly because of a good performance he had during the Copa Libertadores, in where additionally he helped Peñarol eliminate Universidad Católica from the tournament. He is expected to participate in the Copa Sudamericana 2011.
